ORGANIC U.S.-CANADA

U.S.- Canada Program provides access export opportunities for your organic products to two markets with one certification.

The U.S. has trade agreements with several nations to facilitate organic trade. The U.S.-Canada Organic Equivalence Arrangement  recognizes the USDA NOP and the COR as equivalent and allows the smooth exchange of organic products between the two countries without additional certification.

ICERT cooperates with ACT give U.S.-Canada organic certification program basing on ACT-COR/NOP Equivalence Program. ACT has been accredited by the  Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) since June 2009 to certify crop production, processing and handling, and wild crop harvest; and recognized by USDA NOP according to the U.S.-Canadad Organic Equivalence Arrangement

Canada

The Canadian government began implementing the Canadian Organic Regime (COR) in 2009 within the framework of the Organic Products Regulations (SOR) and overseen by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).   

Exporters wants apply organic certification to Canada market must comply Canadian organic standards (CAN/CGSB 32.310 and CAN/CGSB 32.311) and Canada Organic Office (COO) Operating Manual.

United States

USDA NOP has been implementing organic regulation in U.S since 2002.

We do not offer services to certify organic products to the NOP directly. However, by simply enrolling in our organic COR-NOP Equivalence certification according to COR Standard,  you can ship them to the U.S. by using the USDA NOP logo under the terms of U.S. – Canada Equivalence Arrangement.
