INDOGAP CERTIFICATION FOR FOOD CROPS

Certification of IndoGAP for Food Crops provides assurance to producers, manufacturers, and consumers that the food crop products produced have met the requirements of good agricultural practices and product traceability as required in SNI 8969:2021, Indonesian good agricultural practices (IndoGAP) – How to cultivate good food crops  and Per BSN No.4/2023 Lamp XXXVI [page. 495]

ICERT can provide IndoGAP Food Crops certification for individual business actors or business entities that produce food crops, including seeds, fresh products and processed products from food plants, both as food and as feed, can apply for IndoGAP Food Crops certification.ICERT can provide certification of IndoGAP for Food Crops for individual business actors or business entities that produce food crops, including seeds, fresh products, and processed products from food plants, both as food and as feed, can apply for certification of IndoGAP for Food Crops.

General requirements:

  1. It has a NIB [Business Identification Number].
  2. It has applied the principles of IndoGAP Food Crops:
    * Seed production: 1 cropping cycle.
    * Cultivation of food crops: 1 cropping cycle. 
    * Handling and processing: 1 cycle of handling and processing; obtaining IndoGAP certified raw materials.
  1. Applicability to small and micro-businesses:
    * If it is part of the scope of suppliers of large or medium-sized business enterprises, certification must be carried out as part of the scope of certification of the medium-sized or large business enterprises.
    * If into a group is required for certification of IndoGAP for food crops in a group.
    * If an individual can obtain a Certificate of Application for IndoGAP for Food Crops from the competent agency in agriculture at the provincial or district/city level.


Special requirements:

  • Having adequate resources and implementing good seed/seedling production practices, good agriculture practices, good handling and manufacturing practices in accordance with SNI 8969:2021; and Per BSN No.4/2023 Lamp XXXVI [page. 495]
  • Meet product quality according to related SNI or minimum technical requirements.
  • Traceability of good agriculture practices, good handling and manufacturing practices, and certified products.

Scope of Certification:
ICERT can provide IndoGAP Food Crops certification services for the following business activities:
1. Planting, and/or
2. Post Harvest

For the following food crop commodities: rice, corn, soybeans.

For business actors who meet the requirements, they can use the SNI and IndoGAP labels on product packaging.

ICERT was appointed by the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia [BSN] as a certification body for IndoGAP Food Crops products with the scope of rice, corn and soybean commodities based on Decree of the Head of BSN No. 407/KEP/BSN/9/2023 dated 15 September 2023.
